Hi beauties!
After trying out a few subscription boxes, I’ve finally landed on one that I’m obsessed with! FabFitFun has proven to be consistently on point with everything so far, so I thought it was time to share the love with you all!
Make sure you scroll right through to the end of this post where I will include a link to recieve $10 (US) off of your first box!
Cost:
The cost of the box is $39.99/season (US$) – Orders within the U.S. ship free, and Canadians pay an extra $8 for shipping. The quality and number of products make this a tremendous value. Unlike most subscription boxes, this box ships every three months with the changing seasons. This is something I really like about the box as it means larger, better quality products that I will actually use. As opposed to monthly boxes, which I have come to notice come with a lot of sample items that I end of stock piling, rather than using.
Shipping:
In all honesty, I do get a little frustrated with the shipping time of this box. I hate seeing that a lot of other people online get their’s before I do. This is likely because I am in Canada. It’s truly my only big complaint with the box, and it’s not a big one.. The shipping is actually decent. I’m probably just impatient for my goodies to arrive!
Packaging:
This season’s box was dedicated to the Purple Purse Foundation, which supports domestic abuse victims (a cause close to my heart). It featured a beautiful, purple illustration (pictured) to correspond with this.
Products:
The products in this box really stay true to it’s name – They are a fantastic mix of fab, fit, and fun! The best part about the products is that, with the exception of the sponsored sample, they are all full size. The mix of products is awesome – I love beauty products more than my credit card would like, however it’s nice to receive other kinds of treats in the mail as well.
The products in this box are as follows (total retail value: $357 (US)):
1 – Gold Radiance Luxury Facial Mask with Collagen and Rose Oil by Passport To Beauty ($65)
I have yet to try these, however I’ve heard great things! I adore sheet masks, which these are. These are supposed to increase circulation and soothe your skin – Two attributes I love in mask when my skin is looking, and feeling tired.
2 – FabFitFun x Tappan Collective Umbrella ($32)
Simply put – This umbrella is adorable! At first glance it appears to simply have a cute pattern on it, however at closer look, you see that the pattern spells out “rain rain go away”. It’s nice and compact, and the button is quick draw, and hidden in the handle to keep it clean, and stylish. There were several colours available – As a VIP member (year subscription) this was one of the items I was able to customize – I chose classic black, however the pretty pink was super tempting!
3 – Lucky Lipstain by Manna Kadar Cosmetics ($24)
Finally a box that includes a lip stain instead of a simple gloss!! You all know how much I love a good lip stain – They’re a working girl’s best friend! The colour is absolutely superb – A beautiful pale, peachy pink. A wonderful contrast to all of the darker colours I usually rotate through at this time of the year. It’s fairly moisturizing for a lip stain, which is a nice bonus. It doesn’t quite have the staying power of what I’m used to, however since it’s such a pale colour, that’s okay!
4 – Flawless Skin Fluid by Doctor D. Schwab ($39)
I am a devout user of Fresh moisturizer so I’m always skeptical to try anything new, however this stuff is phenomenal! I cannot believe how insanely well it instantly evens out uneven skin tone! It truly does give you a rejuvenated glow within moments.
5 – Purple Purse Charm by Allstate Foundation Purple Purse
This purse charm is beautiful – Not only in looks but in meaning as well. I wear it on whichever purse I am using as a small show of my support to end violence against women.
6 – HISY Battery Pack ($24.99)
Portable battery chargers are an absolute necessity – Perfect for travel and long days! Not to mention power outages – Which this pretty little one came just in time for. This was another item that I could customize the colour of, and I opted for the Berry colour, though it was another hard choice.
7 – Strength Tubing Ankle & Total Body Tone with Tubing: Lower Body & Core DVD by Merrithew ($33)
This was the perfect fitness addition to the box for me as I’ve decided that I need to work on strengthening both my legs and core before I enroll in another round of ballet classes. I’m really impressed with the quality of the tubing – I didn’t expect it. It even features comfy ankle straps!
8 – Glass Crystal Bead Bracelet by Tribe Alive ($49)
I’m a bit of a jewelry addict so any jewelry is always a welcome addition to any box. This bracelet is dainty, and beautiful. It was another of the items that I could choose the colour of and I chose a wonderful, neutral grey. Another beautiful aspect of this bracelet is that Tribe Alive works with partners who help employ impoverished women around the world to provide them sustainable income.
9 – Gift Card by Jeweler’s Wife ($15)
This is a gift card for a jewelry website – I haven’t quite explored it yet, however it’s likely to be American, and with that, I’m unlikely to use it, as the small value won’t be worth the likely cost of shipping.
10 – Gift Card by Picture It On Canvas ($75)
I really love this gift card, however it’s another American store so whether or not I use it will depend on the cost of shipping.
11 – 3D White Brilliance 2-Step System by Crest (sponsored sample)
This is a tiny single use, two-step sample so it’s not likely to make any difference, however a free sample is a free sample!
Add-Ons:
A new feature this FabFitFun season was the addition of add-ons! They give the opportunity to add favourite items from past boxes for a low cost. I believe that they ranged from $5-10 – Don’t quote me on that, as my memory is fuzzy. I chose a beautiful candle that was valued at over $40, which cost about $10 to add to my box. My only disappointment came upon receiving it as a pomegranate candle was pictured with no mention of variations, and I received a gardenia scented one instead. I wouldn’t have ordered the candle had I known this was a possibility. I emailed Customer Service about this and a pomegranate scented candle is currently on it’s way! They’re CS is incredible, and super-quick. Since add-ons are a new feature, I’m really understanding of this little mix up, and have faith that they will learn from it!
